A qualified translator (or agency) adds a signed statement of accuracy with translator credentials, date, and contact details. Widely accepted for UK administrative purposes and many international submissions.
Notarised translation
A notary/solicitor witnesses the translator’s declaration (or identity/signature), creating a notarised certificate. Often requested by foreign courts or consulates.
Legalised translation (apostille)
For documents destined abroad, the notarised document may require FCDO apostille to confirm the notary’s authority. Some countries then need consular legalisation.
